Pyrena Founding Class
Philanthropy
The Sisters of Delta Phi Omega believe that education is the key to success and no child should ever be denied this opportunity to grow. For this reason, we have chosen Children's Education and Literacy as our philanthropy. Over the years, we have raised thousands of dollars through fundraising. We feel as though fundraising and community service are the best way to give back to the less fortunate.
Asha for Education is a secular organization dedicated to change in India by focusing on basic education in the belief that education is a critical requisite for socio-economic change. In keeping with this focus, volunteers are involved with and support projects that are secular and have an education-related component to them.
The Nanubhai Education Foundation (NEF) was founded to provide higher education access to financially vulnerable girls in rural India through sustainable and scalable programming. The organization’s flagship Nanubhai Scholars program awards full college scholarships (including dormitory, food, and textbook costs) to rural girls. 21% of the Nanubhai Scholars are the first women in their family to achieve literacy, and the average Scholar quadruples her family’s annual income within two years of graduating. With over 800 total scholarships across Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, NEF’s goal is to give 1000 scholarships annually.
